Worldwide Recession Unemployment Certificate
The date I lost my job until now is more than a year and a half. Looking around our neighborhood and watching the news everyday, I found that are many people just like me, staying at home and struggling to find a way to find a new job.
Since the recession spread worldwide and impacted many working families, I wanted to create something special, which could be as a reminder of the difficulties I faced during this time.
I searched the Internet, where I thought that I could find an “unemployment certificate”, but didn’t find anything. So, I decided to make one myself. I call it a “Worldwide Recession Unemployment Certificate” (WRUC). My WRUC number is UC0000001.
After I made it, I decided that I also needed a special signature to authorize and certify it. I chose to use a Mr. Pickle Nielsen’s paw print as a most special and unique signature.
Mr. Pickle Nielsen is an amazing and wonderful black cat. He is a big, handsome cat, with a very good "catnality", a gentlecat. Even though he can’t speak with the human language, he absolutely knows how to control a person. During the period of my depression after losing my job, he would always stay with me, climbing on my body, or sleeping side-by-side with me. With his soft paw, very slightly stroking my forehead or cheek, he helped to relieve my frustrations. Sometimes, he would greet me with a special rub of his head. If I kept him indoors too long, Mr. Pickle would say to me, “owuuuu(t)..ou(t)”. Once we were out and I sat on our front step, Mr. Pickle wouldn’t run away, but instead he would roll on the ground, stretching his body, touching the air with his paws, begging me to scratch him.
Anyway, Mr. Pickle is a wonderful cat. He helped contribute to my recovery from my depression. I am very proud to have his paw signature on my WRUC.
After I made my own WRU certificate, I also made another one for my husband, as he is now retired. Then, I had an idea that other unemployed persons might also like to collect their own unemployment certificate as a souvenir. I would like to see how much true number of people is unemployed during this World.
Later, I will sell other products on this site too, such as jewelry, gifts, handicrafts and so on. I just don’t want to wait for a job to find me. It is always better to do something than nothing. If unsuccessful, I may lose some money, but I believe I will gain some useful experience.
Anyway, much talking doesn't make bread. I want to go make it.
